The 'Fireworks' sleepover in May 2009, celebrates Netzer's 30th birthday

Netzer celebrates
Shabbaton Zikukim
09-kefday1

Netzer held its Shabbaton Zikukim, Fireworks Sleepover, during May 2009. As this year is Netzer's 30th birthday, we have themed our activities around the celebration of 30 years of Reform and Zionist education. The name "Fireworks" was given to this Shabbaton to represent the excitement of such a birthday, and to express how we, the youth, strive for significant growth and change in the Jewish and wider communities.

We began our Shabbaton with a Kabbalat Shabbat Youth Service led by our madrichim, and proceeded to have a stimulating yet relaxing Shabbat. It was a fantastic day of Parshat Hashavuah and Oneg Shabbat activities, kef games, beading, the ball game machanaim and delicious meals prepared by our wonderful shlichim. By the end of such a packed day, both madrichim and chanichim were exhausted, yet satisfied. We ended off our Shabbaton with a chilled Havdallah service, and as the stars came out, bid a fond farewell to all who took part in an amazing weekend.

Thank you to Beit Emanuel for hosting us for the night, to the madrichim for their constant dedication, and to the chanichim for joining us in celebration of Netzer's 30 years.

Nilmad v'na'aseh! We will learn and we will do!
