When it comes to celebrating a Jewish holiday, the congregants of Temple Emanuel in Parktown, Johannesburg, will always jump at the opportunity!

Lots of families, especially children attending the Religion School, joined in the fun on Monday night, 7 May 2007, to celebrate Lag Ba'Omer, the holiday of the bonfires.

A big bonfire was lit, and the celebration was great. The kids enjoyed a fun activity supervised by the Netzer madrichim, with singing, drumming and music, while the adults enjoyed each other's company, around the bonfire in the beautiful grounds of Temple Emanuel.

There was a big braai, hot potatoes in the fire, and the highlight: marshmallows. Yummy!

The evening was enjoyed by all, and as the bonfire started to slow down, it was time to go home and have a good shower, to wash away that good bonfire smell!
